On January 6, 1989, Kenshirou Hatono was born in Awara City, in the northern part of Fukui Prefecture. He attempted teaching after receiving his degree from Fukui University, but he was unable to give up his desire to produce knives. At last, he abandoned his everyday life to pursue his passion. He is currently 32 years old and has been employed by Takefu Knife Village's Master Katsuyasu Kamo for 7 years, producing second generation Kamo knives.
