Petty
The Petty is a little utility knife used for chopping herbs, prepping side dishes, and peeling, shaping, and slicing fruits and vegetables. The French term "petite" (engl. little) is where the word "petty" originated in the Japanese language. This knife is perfect for making precise cuts because of its small size and relatively narrow blade, which also makes it very manoeuvrable and controllable. Traditionally, petty knives are smaller than similarly shaped Gyuto knives but larger than European peeling knives. The Petty is perfect for delicate work on chopping boards as well as peeling fruits and vegetables. There is something for every hand, big or tiny, in the current range of pewter sizes, which is 75mm to 150mm.
