Shiro Kamo makes the handcrafted Kama-Usuba kitchen knife. The blade is 165 mm long. Rosewood handles with traditional Japanese octagonal shapes. The blade has eleven layers of Shirogami steel. Dishwasher washing is not permitted for this Japanese knife. The blade of Mr. Shiro Kamo's knife is extremely thin and strong. Cutting bones and meat with bones, coconuts and other nuts, and other hard goods using Japanese chef knives is prohibited. Takefu Knife Village is where craftsman Shiro Kamo makes his blades. Born in 1958, Shiro Kamo was awarded the renowned Japanese title "Dento-Kogei-shi" (Master of Traditional Craft) at the age of 45 in recognition of his exceptional talent. He is the Takefu Knife Village Association's President at the moment.
