This bunka knife, made by Tanaka Kama Industry's Matsubara Hamono, is a fine example of Japanese culinary artistry. The bunka is a compact, multipurpose knife with a sharp point that is perfect for a variety of jobs. Shirogami (White Paper) steel, which has a high carbon content, is used to make its 17-centimeter blade. The blade is framed by blackened stainless steel sheaths for both protection and aesthetics. Fine walnut is used to create the ergonomic octagonal "wa" handle. Note that this knife is not safe to use in the dishwasher. Hand wash and completely dry high-carbon Shirogami steel right away after each use. We advise applying camellia oil for the best possible blade care.
