Victorinox
In 1884, the Victorinox corporation was established. The firm has been supplying the Swiss army with knives since 1891. Victorinox has been using a cross within a shield as their emblem since 1909. Karl Elsener, the company's founder, called the business "Victoria" in memory of his mother, who passed away that year. When "inox," an acronym for acier inoxydable, a French word for stainless steel, was added to the company's products in 1921, the brand and name changed to "Victorinox" ("Victoria"+"Inox"). Victorinox now manufactures kitchen knives, Swiss Army knives, and other products.
