Japanese knife artist Yu Kurosaki created the Fujin R2 Nakiri, a vegetable knife. Oak is used to make the octagonal handle. The blade is composed of three layers of R2 steel and has a distinctive Tsuchime hammered pattern. As evidenced by the hammered texture, Kurosaki drew inspiration for this series from Fujin, the Shinto god of the wind. Blacksmith Yu Kurosaki is well-known in Japan for his extremely distinctive hammered blade designs. He was Hiroshi Kato's trainee and is now employed at Takefu Knife Village. Very sharp kitchen knives with a distinctive and fashionable style are made by Yu Kurosaki on his blades
